Cheesy Black Bean Tamale Pie with Red Sauce and Queso Fresco


Delicious Mexican comfort food with a taste that really pops. We've gotten more positive feedback on this dish than any other recently, including from Connor, a 12 year old customer (and budding food writer!):

"The Tamale Pie is the best. The beans on the bottom are suburb as they are homemade and the sauce makes it even better. It is topped with a wonderful layers of many cheeses that combine all of the flavors for a perfectly harmonious dish. Making meals with organic, fresh ingredients really pays off."

Layers of creamy organic polenta (ground corn cooked with milk) with our made-from-scratch organic black beans, organic onions, and organic sweet pepper. Smothered in our bright red mildly spicy housemade red enchilada sauce* and topped with organic scallions, organic cilantro, fresh squeezed organic lime juice, and a gooey layer ofTillamook cheddar cheese and queso fresco.

One Tin. 3-4 servings.

Freezes very well making this a wonderfully convenient dish!

*Organic Red Wagon Farm tomato, local organic chiles from the Western Slope, red chile powder, paprika, cumin and Mexican oregano from Savory Spice Shop,  filtered water, olive oil, and Real sea salt.
